How insurer billing works
Self-pay and claim back, or let us invoice your insurer directly. Either way, treatment starts without delay.
Your insurance checklist
Six things to sort out with your insurer before you book, so your claim goes through without a hitch.
- Check your policy covers physiotherapyLook for outpatient physiotherapy in your policy documents, and check whether a GP referral is required first.
- Check your policy excessThe excess is the part of any claim you pay yourself. Know the amount before treatment starts.
- Check the year-end date of your policyClaims and session allowances usually reset at your policy year-end, so it is worth knowing where you are in the year.
- Call your insurer and explain your conditionWrite down the date and time of the call and the name of the person you spoke to.
- Get an authorisation or claim numberThis is the number we need in order to invoice your insurer directly for your treatment.
- Book your appointmentBook online or call us, and give us your membership and authorisation numbers.
The details of each insurance policy differ, so while this is general guidance, you will need to check the details of your own policy for yourself. Not sure about something? Call us on 020 7435 4910 and we will help you work out what to ask.
