Online physiotherapy

Video consultations for assessment, advice and exercise progression, wherever you are.

  • Video consultations
  • From home, work or travel
  • Same clinicians as our clinics
  • No GP referral needed

What online physiotherapy is good at

A surprising amount of physiotherapy is watching you move, asking the right questions and adjusting your plan, and all of that works well over video. Online appointments suit follow-ups, exercise progressions, and first assessments when getting to a clinic is the obstacle.

It is not right for everything; hands-on treatment needs hands. Your physiotherapist will be straight with you if what you need is an in-person appointment, in clinic or at home.

What to expect

How a video appointment works

Treat it like a clinic appointment that happens to be in your living room.

01Book and connectPick a time, get a link, and find a spot with room to move and prop your camera.
02Assessment over videoHistory and guided movement testing. You will be surprised how much a trained eye can see through a lens.
03Plan and follow-upExercises demonstrated and checked live, a written plan afterwards, and honest advice if you need to be seen in person.

Who you will see

The same clinicians, over video

Online appointments are delivered by the same chartered, HCPC-registered physiotherapists who work in our London clinics, with your notes shared across both, so moving between video and in-person care is seamless.

“I have seen several different therapists at Sammy Margo’s over many years. Every one has been excellent. When I was recovering from a hip replacement the physio I received helped me recover really quickly. Highly recommended.”

“I had a full hip replacement following a cycle accident, and have daily physio visits on weekdays for three weeks. I am already able to walk short distances without a stick or crutch, and this is entirely due to the work they have done with me.”

Frequently asked questions

Is a video assessment really useful?
Yes, for the right problems. History and watching you move carry most of an assessment, and both work well over video. If we need hands on you, we will say so.
What technology do I need?
A phone, tablet or laptop with a camera, and enough space to stand back so we can see you move. We will send a secure link; nothing to install.
Can I switch to in-person later?
Any time. Notes are shared, so your clinic or home-visit physiotherapist picks up exactly where the video call left off.
Will insurance cover a video appointment?
Many insurers now cover remote physiotherapy; check your policy, and we will invoice your insurer directly where cover applies.
What if you cannot help over video?
Then you will not be strung along. We will tell you in the call and get you booked into clinic or a home visit instead.
