About Chitra

Chitra is an HCPC and CSP registered physiotherapist with a Master’s degree in Advanced Physiotherapy from Manchester Metropolitan University, with specialities in manual therapy, sports rehabilitation and leadership management, and a Bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy from India. Her clinical experience spans musculoskeletal, orthopaedic, geriatric, neurological, cardiovascular, post-operative and paediatric conditions, with a particular interest in musculoskeletal rehabilitation, chronic pain and helping patients return to the activities that matter to them.

Her approach to physiotherapy is evidence-based, hands-on and patient-centred. She believes in looking beyond symptoms to understand and address the root cause of a problem. Her goal is not only to help patients feel better, but to help them understand their condition, regain confidence and become as independent as possible.

Chitra has additional training in dry needling, manual therapy for the cervical and lumbar spine, Pilates and Basic Life Support, and is a certified Fitness Trainer from the Indian Academy of Fitness Training. Her clinical experience in India gave her the opportunity to work with a diverse range of patients and strengthened her ability to adapt treatment to each individual’s needs.

She believes movement is an important part of both physical and mental wellbeing, and encourages her patients to stay active throughout the day, whether through simple mobility exercises, walking or activities they enjoy, rather than feeling that rehabilitation only happens during a treatment session. Chitra practises what she preaches: she enjoys an active lifestyle, loves going to the gym, dancing and staying on the move, and unwinds by swimming and reading.

Patients often tell Chitra that they feel comfortable opening up to her. She values being an empathetic listener and taking the time to understand what her patients actually want to achieve. For her, physiotherapy is about building that connection, finding the right solution together, and helping people move better, feel stronger and take control of their own recovery.
