Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking


At SMARTPHYSIO we are fully aware of our responsibilities to our patients and colleagues and have a zero tolerance towards any acts of human trafficking and/or modern slavery. We assess the risk of modern slavery and/or human trafficking playing a part in our business as extremely low.

This statement is published in line with section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015.

Our Assurance

To mitigate the risks in our business and supply chain, we:

· Complete thorough and appropriate pre-employment checks on all our employees

· Support our whole workforce to be alert and report any concerns about slavery and/or human trafficking at the earliest opportunity by taking personal responsibility.

· Committed to creating and ensuring a non-discriminatory and respectful working environment for our staff.

· Have robust training, processes and policies relating to the safeguarding of children and adults.

· Have a clear and comprehensive Whistleblowing Policy.

· We do not enter into business with any organisation, in the UK or abroad, which knowingly supports or is found to be involved in slavery, servitude and forced or compulsory labour.

Sammy Margo is a Chartered Physiotherapist with over 30 years’ clinical experience. She has worked across the NHS, professional sport, and private practice, and was England’s first female physiotherapist to work in professional football.

Her areas of clinical expertise include:

  • Home visit and community-based physiotherapy

  • Sleep, recovery, and performance

  • Musculoskeletal and neurological rehabilitation


Sammy is a recognised sleep expert, a former spokesperson for the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy, and a regular contributor to national media including The Telegraph, The Guardian, Daily Mail, and Stylist. She is the author of The Good Sleep Guide.
