What to expect

How an appointment works

The same process whichever treatment you book, and whether we see you in clinic or at home.

01Tell us what is going onBook online or send an enquiry. You do not need a GP referral to see us.
02A full assessmentYour first appointment is a proper assessment: your history, movement testing and a working diagnosis, with treatment on the same visit wherever possible.
03Treatment and a planHands-on treatment where it helps, plus exercises that fit around your week rather than the other way round.
04Continuity of careYou see the same clinician, or small team of clinicians, at every follow-up, in clinic or at home, so nobody starts from scratch.

Questions about treatment

The things patients ask us most before booking.

Do I need a GP referral?
No. You can book directly with us. Some insurers ask for a referral before they will cover treatment, so it is worth checking your policy first.
I am not sure which treatment I need
Book a standard physiotherapy assessment. Your physiotherapist will tell you at that first appointment whether shockwave, acupuncture or massage would add anything to your treatment.
Can I have these treatments at home?
Most of them. Physiotherapy, neurological rehabilitation, respiratory physiotherapy and post-surgical rehab are all delivered on home visits across London. Shockwave therapy is clinic only, because of the equipment.
How quickly can I be seen?
Most patients are offered an appointment within 24 to 48 hours, at one of our clinics or at home.
Will my insurance cover it?
We invoice most major UK health insurers directly, including Bupa, AXA, Aviva, WPA and Cigna. Check your level of cover with your insurer before your first appointment.
How long is an appointment?
Initial assessments run up to 45 minutes in clinic and up to an hour at home. Follow-ups are 30 or 60 minutes, depending on what you are being treated for.
